Privacy Policy
Offbeat is built around local playback and creative music tools. Your imported music, videos, recordings, lyrics, exports, and related library assets are intended to stay on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
What we collect
If you enable Data Collection and related privacy controls in the app, we may collect:
- Product analytics: app opens, sessions, screen views, feature usage, playback actions such as play or skip, import events, paywall and subscription events, notification preference events, app version, platform, plan tier, and limited performance metrics.
- Crash and diagnostic data: crash messages, stack traces, and related technical details used to investigate failures and improve stability.
- Optional profile data: age range and primary use case if you voluntarily provide them through privacy or product-feedback flows.
- Account and subscription data: if you sign in, we may associate analytics, notification preferences, and subscription status with your account.
What we do not collect through analytics
We do not upload your music library, imported media files, recordings, lyrics, LRC files, or exported content as part of analytics or crash reporting. Search analytics are limited to metadata such as query length rather than the text you typed.
How we use data
We use collected data to operate Offbeat, improve features, understand engagement and retention, monitor performance and reliability, evaluate notification effectiveness, support subscription reporting, prevent abuse, and respond to support or legal obligations.
Controls and choices
You can turn off Data Collection, Enable Analytics, or Crash Reporting at any time in Offbeat under Settings → Privacy & Security. If you disable those settings, Offbeat stops sending the related optional analytics or crash-reporting data from that device going forward.
Sharing and service providers
We may use service providers to process account, analytics, diagnostics, and infrastructure data on our behalf. Purchase processing, billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. When you export or share content, the destination you choose governs what happens to that exported file.
Retention
We retain analytics, diagnostic, and related operational data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including support, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and product improvement. After that, data may be deleted, anonymized, or aggregated.
